Watercolor Portrait Workshop
Using various effects to create beautiful watercolor portraits
Watercolors lend themselves well to the use of the
airbrush. Explore watercolors in a whole new way!
In this workshop, Dru will share the techniques he
uses to create bold and beautiful watercolor portraits.
Dru will demonstrate the use of brushes, airbrush,
synthetic papers, and will also explain how to control
the watercolors in the body and at the edges.
Dru will also introduce new tricks to create a
controlled marbleizing effects, many of which have
never been seen before.
Dru Blair's Color Buffer Method will NOT be taught in
this class, as the project will be less color dependent
than those inmost portrait classes we offer. This
class will utilize both traditional brushwork and
airbrushing.
If you are a veteran of other Dru Blair classes you will
notice this class is taught using a looser, slightly
impressionistic, painting style.
All materials and reference will be supplied in our
new facility, which features color-corrected lighting
and a state-of-the-art air filtration system. There
will also be an optional Foundations class on the
Wednesday before each workshop for those
wanting to brush up on their airbrush control.
Space is limited and will be filled on a first-
come, first-served basis. To reserve your seat
today, browse to the class schedule.
