SEQUENTIAL GRAPHIC F/X "Master Series Workshop"

Craig Fraser has been designing and painting automotive kustom graphics for the past 3 decades. With his partners at Kal Koncepts he has worked for some of the top name builders in the Automotive Kustom Industry. West Coast Choppers, Arlen Ness, Billy Lane, Ric Dore, and Jon Kosmoski are just a few names of clients that own a Craig Fraser/Kal Koncepts paintjob. For the past 20 years Craig has taught workshops around the world, written for magazines, and authored books on the subject of automotive painting, and the fine art of the kustom kulture. The Master Series of Workshops that Craig now teaches at the Dru Blair School of Art are a summation of these experiences, and teaching techniques.

In this new workshop, students will learn the tricks and techniques that Craig has used, and developed throughout the years to create the graphics in his award winning paintjobs. In "Sequential Graphic F/X" you will learn the techniques behind multiple layer graphics, and of course, the use of sequential masking to create clean 3-D effects. Craig will teach you to create the most intricate designs in half the time of conventional masking. You will learn the art of tape shading, stenciling, and creating not only lowrider style patterns, but intricate underpainted kandy effects that will kick up the graphics of any current paint style.

With House of Kolor as a primary sponsor, you will learn to use solvent based paints, and how to safely work them for the best results. If you have not taken a workshop from Craig before, it is recommended that you take the single day foundation, or "Materials" workshop as an introduction to any of his Automotive workshops. This foundation workshop will teach the differences, and advantages of the new S2 (Shimrin II) painting system

developed by HoK. This S2 foundation day will give any painter of any level of experience, a distinct advantage over the competition, since Craig has been working with HoK for the past 3 years on developing this new paint system. This workshop will also offer the ability for professional painters to acquire ICAR points, with an approved, and accredited ICAR/CASE curriculum developed by Craig Fraser through ASET/Iwata.

In the Sequential Graphic F/X workshop the students will not only work on metal panels for demos, but will also be basecoating, flaking, laying graphics, and kandying a skateboard deck. Each student will not only do all the work on this deck, but will also have the opportunity to clearcoat the deck and take it home with them as a completed art-piece to hang on the wall, (Or skate on!). Don't miss this opportunity to get started in the art of kustom graphics, or take your current skills up to the next level for the new decade.
